carbetapentane for cough?.havent slept for 4 nights with dry unproductive cough lung x rays clear its a tickle in my throat that WONT STOP!!

also given.. quaifenesin .which i dont understand since x rays show no mucus, and past several days worth of treatment with guaif. before seeing dr did not help...neithr did dextromathroaphan.. thats why i went to dr..have never taken carbetapentane, but i do have high blood pressure and there are warnings all over the place about this med and hbp,,(i take triamterene and metoprolol) but at drs today pressure was 130/90
