The only one that people would think of as criminal procedural drama that I really watch is Law & Order.
I probably like it because it's often using the format to take a look at some question about people's relationships, society or the law. It's often about dilemmas like what is really right or wrong in a situation where it's not all black and white. And the acting is great.

And DON'T tell me this isn't a criminal procedural drama. It's all three in just a half-hour!

But I enjoy Psych the most since it is hilarious (I like a little comedy with my murrderr).
For all of these I've mentioned, though, the most important aspect is the character relationships - seeing them build trust over time, and seeing how they deal when that trust is tested.
Bones might have won if it hadn't thrown character development out the window.

I like NCIS, too, and Numb3rs and Without a Trace, and Lie to Me if that counts as one. But I enjoy Psych the most since it is hilarious (I like a little comedy with my murrderr).

When I was a kid, it was 21 Jumpstreet. Right now it's Fringe. But I'm hoping that starting April 8, my favorite police drama will be The Unusuals. (I love Jeremy Renner!) http://hubpages.com/hub/Jeremy-Renner-Rocks
