Stuffed dogs present the least danger, but I like beagles. They don't slobber a lot, but they are very friendly, loving dogs.

Petting my Shih Tzu is great his hair grows constantly like our hair and it needs daily brushing. I like to pet him, his name is Chewbacca, Chewy for short, because he like it when I do. He gets all smiley and looks gets more adorable by the second. All friendly dogs are rewarding to pet but I'm kind of partial to mine.
This is not him but this Shih Tzu looks and sounds like Chewbacca.
