According to CNN, mamey-flavored ice cream marketed by La Nuestra (sold in California and Nevada) has been linked to a form of Salmonella typhi, with 9 confirmed cases of typhoid fever in California and Nevada. The FDA has confirmed that the pulp of the mamey fruit is linked to salmonella typhi. La Nuestra has offered to proceed with a voluntary recall.
