Does anyone know if there is a law requiring adult to wear a helmet when riding a bike on the streets in California/San Diego/Chula Vista?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Apparently, the California law is for people under 18. However, I would still highly recommend wearing a helmet, anyway.

doesnt seem like there is but the way people drive here I would wear one. people here are rude and cannot be bothered with stopping, wherever they are going is the most important place in the world and even though they also have a hands free cellphone law many drivers think it applies to someone, if you are not from California, let me tell you about how people drive here ( and no its not aggressive) when you signal your intention to change lanes they see it as speed up so you are not infront of them. and if they see traffic stopped at a red light or on the freeway they believe they should speed up to catch up to the car infront of them. with out a helmet you take your chances out here and law enforcement is only concerned with registration. you can cut people off and not use your turn signals or drive too closely they dont care. wear the helmet you will need it here.
