Does anyone know how to get caffeine out of your system, so you can stop drinking coffee or diet cola drinks?

I had tried before but my headaches make it terrible, I don't feel like doing anything...Is there a faster way to do this than just stop cold turkey?

I decaffeinated myself a few years as I was drinking a pot of coffee by myself by 11am ! I was so hyper, shaky and started to notice chest pains once in awhile so knew it was time to quit. At first I tried going cold turkey but the headaches and withdrawal feelings were too much so I changed my approach and withdrew gradually. I purchased the "light" version of my brand of coffee (Maxwell House) which is half caffeine and mixed it with the full version. Eventually I was able to just drink the light version. Then slowly and gradually reduced the amount I was drinking until I could just stop. I had no headaches, no fatigue, no problems. It took about 3 or 4 weeks. Now I notice quickly the effect caffeine has on me if I drink coffee (occasionally I do). I can't drink it in the afternoon or evening as it keeps me awake thru the night. Good luck !

Thanks so much for responding. I agree, I know you understand what it is like to go through caffeine detox...lol

That's simple: don't drink caffeinated drinks for several days. Drink plenty of water. I also recommend herbal caffeine free tea.

You'll probably feel groggy and stiff, possibly with a headache, for a few days. That will eventually pass.

Since you're having such a difficult time getting off caffeine, try reducing the amount you have for several days before going cold turkey. It won't speed up the process, but it may ease you through it.

Drink only water for a week and you won't crave the caffeine anymore. It works!

Thanks so much for your response, Yes I have tried that...but my headache are so severe that I go back to the same habit after a few days.

You are going to have to 'detox' from it. Drink lots of water and eat lots of fresh foods that don't have preservatives in them. It should be gone in about 24 hours.

Thanks for your response, Yes the caffeine will be out of my system, but the headaches are severe.
