Does anyone know how much horsepower/torque the 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG has? Good SUV?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

347.1 bhp at 5500 rpm power
376.2 ft lbs at 2800 rpm torque
It's a pointless and expensive gas guzzler.

That one was supposed to get 500 bhp. Way more than it needed.
Since the speed limit on highways is 70 mph at highest, in cities 35 or less, and no one ever tows with a Mercedes Benz luxury SUV, there is no reason for such a large engine. It is a completely pointless wasteful gas guzzler. Definitely not a good SUV.
I should have been more specific. This one has a 5.5L V8, not 5.4
This handbuilt 5.4L wonder is an all-aluminum design, replete with matched pistons and connecting rods, hand-balanced crankshaft, modular camshafts, and topped with three-valve-per-cylinder heads. A tweaked ECU and high-flow fuel injectors result in 342 hp at 5500 rpm, with torque coming in at 376 lb-ft at 2500 rpm. Performance? With a 0-60-mph time of 6.24, it's a whisker away from tying the X5. The ML55 pulls strongly, especially as speeds increase; from rest to 100 the AMG takes only 16.48 sec, while the X5 needs 17.23 sec. Stomp on the ML55's accelerator, the revs come up, and you feel like you're aiming a speeding locomotive.
