I use hand sanitizer ALL the time (I have three different bottles of it on my desk). I feel it's excellent to use because it contains alcohol, which is a known sanitizing agent. While frequent use can easily dry out your hands and make you look/feel like you have the skin of an alligator, keeping in a backpack/car/purse is really easy and efficient. I always keep a small bottle with me if I'm going to an event where I know I'll be shaking a lot of hands... but that's the anti-germ freak in me. :)

I try to remember to use it. I've got some in my purse but I tend to forget. but I all wash my hand's every time I go to the restroom and even some more after that

I use hand sanitizer as an alternative to washing my hands if its not possible to wash my hands at a particular moment. However, I still think washing your hands is always an important thing to do whenever possible. I am glad that hand sanitizer was created though. I remember around five years ago in my state there was a water contamination scare, I just happened to be at a clinic that day and had no hand sanitizer on me, when I went into to bathroom I noticed they had signs don't turn on the water but no hand sanitizer. My reaction was if they didn't want us to use the water then they should of gave us hand sanitizer since its a great alternative to hand washing. Well to make a long story short I still used the water, what other choice did I have which is a sad situation when you think about it. After this I always made it a point to carry hand sanitizer on me, and I always have it in my house just in case the water was turned off or unavailable for some given reason such as what happened years ago.
