Do you think we should read reviews by the critics before watching a movie?

Do you think reading a critic's review can make a change in what we think of the movie without reading the review?

We may like a movie if we haven't read the review. Because of reading the review, after watching the movie I may feel ... "Yeah. That guy is right. It should have been much more better" or "Yeah. This is the worst movie". But if I haven't read that thing, I may have been happy with what the film offered me.

Hope you guys get the idea what I am trying to say.

What are you opinions / comments ?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

I make up my own mind about whether I like a movie and how much. But, I always check the reviews beforehand to see if it is the kind of movie I would want to spend time and money to watch. In particular I check the collected reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Usually the percentage from the professional reviewers gives the best idea of overall quality while the other reviews can indicate if it is simply a fun movie. Since I am skimming through dozens of reviews no one reviewer is likely to influence me at all, and I take the percentages with a grain of salt too. But overall I can tell if a movie will be worth trying to see.

Movie Reviews are just an expression of a person's opinion....and different persons have different choices, so, even though there are bad reviews bout a particular movie, if u want to watch it then i think u should just go ahead u never know it might be something u like.

I think it's fine if you read reviews before movie
You can have an idea what is about and can make you decide if it worthy or not
But don't read too many reviews because it would spoil the fun
After the movie, you can read reviews again and this time you know who is right or not based on how you enjoyed the movie. Sometimes a critic can explain to you something you didn't figure out .I like to read the negative comments, those with votes of 1 and 2-they are exciting.
It's easy to check on imdb.

It is okay to read the reviews before seeing a move but you should keep in mind that not everyone has the same views or the same taste in movies. Although the critics are supposed to give an objective opinion it is difficult for people to keep there own views out of review.

Reading a review will give you a good idea of what the movie is about and if the movie is given a particularly poor rating you can be almost guaranteed that it is not very good however you should always use your own judgment and make your own decisions.

8 times out of 10 I will disagree with the majority of reviews on a movie. II like to check to see if it appropriate for the family to watch or just me or my husband then sit back and enjoy without any one's opinion to influence our tastes.

I try not to read or watch reviews by critics before watching a movie. I don't want them to ruin the film for me. And also, their opinion and values are often different from mine, so just because a lot of reviewers may hate a movie, I would still use my own judgement. Many movies I've enjoyed over the years have been panned by critics. And on the other end of the spectrum, many movies I've hated have been loved by critics.
