I really don't think so; he was not very successful with Oakland and he was slightly better than .500 with Tennessee. Granted, Tennessee is in the historically difficult SEC, I do not think that his game will even translate well to the PAC-10. I mean, he lost to UCLA last year for crying out loud!

This could be a long year for Trojan football.

I sure hope so, with an annual salary of $2 million, you don't think this coach could possibly mess up. Also, since USC is one of the most team spirited universities, they certainly have an edge. Plenty of their students are also fans of the teams and play on the teams, so the school spirit is what I believe will keep the football team winning. When I visited the university, they were all talking about the football team, and watching the game. There is no doubt in my mind, that this team will do extraordinarily well under the coaching of Lane Kiffin.

According to the below stats, you'd also believe that this could only be beneficial for USC, and help them pull through with a winning season.

"Despite being new to the role, Lane Kiffin helped guide USC to a 23–3 win-loss record during his tenure- an 88% win percentage. During the previous four years under Norm Chow's play calling, the Trojans achieved 41 wins and 9 losses (82%)."
