Do you think the world is fair? Why or why not?

Tip for best answer: M$5.09
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

I think life is life and fair doesn't really enter into it.

Even if we were to ensure that everyone had the same opportunities in life, started off with the same benefits, and everything were on an even playing field, there would still be tsunamis and earthquakes, random house fires, diseases that strike children, infants that die for no reason...

Because there is absolutely no way to ensure everyone the same experience, it seems impossible to even put the balance of "fair or not" on life. We have a shot at it, and our shot may be hard or it may be easy, but at least we got a shot :)

The world is not fair... at least not in the same way that the rules of any game are fair to all players. The real world is far to complex to really be able for us to judge beyond our immediate situation, experience, or environment. By definition the judgment of whether or not life is fair is subjective. If taken in the context of do things balance out in the grand scheme of things (i.e. divine justice, karma, or whatever term you care to use) no one can really know for certain...there are to many factors to be considered. I think that the best we can do is to try and be fair in the way we treat each other using the limited understanding that we have.

The world is quite fair if we have a positive attitude. Pessimism and nihilism will lead us nowhere. "I was always a fighter, so one fight more" (Robert Browning). We need this robust optimism of Browning.

No it is not fair; I believe the only way for it to be fair is globalization and freedom FROM RELIGION. Until there is one equal world govt and we rid ourselves of religion we are DOOMED

Religion is harmless, ban the people who practice it against others instead.

People make things unfair. If the world were to be like it was many millenia ago, it would be fair. People created civilizations, possessions and the like. The people with things often make it unfair for those without...like Politicians.

Some examples of what people do that is not fair:
-Murder, like with Gandhi, that preached non violence
-Rape, like with many 4rd world countries
-Injustice
-Domestic Abuse
-People who drink or do drugs and get pregnant. Then they have children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrom or something worse. This is completely uneccessary, b/c they gave a person a life sentence of never having the capacity above someone who is 8 years old.
-People who take advantage of others.
-People who exploit government assistance, for the above reason, to gamble, and other reasons. Remember this is funded by taxes that you and I (in America anyways) pay in, for them to use as they want. Yes people use it for gambling, how you ask. Let me tell you. They pay for someone elses groceries, and receive that money back in cash. In this way they can gamble, buy cigarettes, prostitutes...you name it.

The world is not fair as there is always going on a struggle for existence among all species of life, even within the humankind itself, which is no doubt a natural phenomenon. So the struggle should be there as long as life will be here. But if we try to make it a little bit fair, one must have a positive outlook in life.

i think there is no fair or unfair in the world, just reasonable and unreasonable.
but exist is reasonable.
so if you want to have a good mentality, you nust learn to accept what do you see.
For many things ,we often see its external, so we will feel unfair, but someone who have seen the internal will know it is so fair.
therefore, whether it is fair, all is up to our angle.

Hi. Yes, there are a lot of things in this world that are not fair! But as we all know it's impossible to change the whole worlds unfairness. We can only do our best as individuals to try to improve the matters we think are important, and contribute to helping with that problem. Life has never been fair, but we have to make it as positive as we can.

Fair or unfair depends upon invidual , time , context and many other aspect. To answer such question straight forward is totally absurd. What you think fair may be unfair for others. It may be that he or she mis true on its own place. So it is not true to say world is fair or unfair. Leave it.
