Do you find iBoobs offensive?

Apple rejected this iPhone application earlier, was that a bad decision? Do you know anybody who would have paid for this.

I don't think it's particularly offensive. I also don't appreciate Apple setting the moral standards for the rest of the world.

If people don't like the application or find it offensive they shouldn't buy it. That's the way free markets work but I guess the Apple's ecosystem is anything but "free market"

Long live Steve's dictatorship!

it is a silly joke - what's a big deal and why should it be offensive? I don't know why Apple rejected it - everyone is so "politically" correct these days! it looks like balloons filled with water...

Incredibly so. So much that I don't feel like elaborating because this app shouldn't get more exposure. I feel like that's the same as having an animated rear end on there or animated male parts, clothed, but still.

it's good to see someone with some decency. Looking at the majority of the replies i would think mahalo is made up of hoorny 14 yearl old boys. I dont't find it offensive nearly as much as i find it immature and lame.

apple is maintaining it's sense of dignity and class by rejecting such a loser ap. i mean gimme a break lolit looks like soething a group of junior high boys would get a kick out of, not grown s and teenagers

Filmkid, you'd generous by saying 'clothed'. The app shows is hardly clothed; the male analogue would need to be 'painted on'. I sigh with you.

Yes, that's incredibly offensive. Why would people create such an application? Women don't go creating applications of male parts, I guess we have more respect than that.. hmm...

I think the boobs themselves are offensive. They must live in Beverly Hills or maybe even Orange County. They actually defy gravity.

They will probably drop a little in a few months, but wow, have you seen how elastic they are? Women will pay big money to get a pair like this. Imagine what it means for strippers and porn stars.

I bet Dr. Rey is on the phone with Allergan right now trying to get a pair like this in clinical trials.

No, I don't find iBoob offensive. But that's really the wrong question. The right question is, should Apple have rejected that app?

Let's be honest, sex sells. And, whether you personally are offended by porn or not is besides the point. The online porn industry is huge. And... and this is important... it has been driving technological advancement on the Internet and the Web.

Here's a number of things about the porn industry you can pull from this article: http://maketelevision.com/log/what_is_a_vlog_what_is_a_vodcast

#1: People's desire to view porn images easier is what initially made the Web popular, as this article mentions ...
------- BEGIN -------
The thing that [initially] made the Web really popular was that viewing images was easy. On the Web, you click the link to the image, and it just shows up on the screen. Yeah, I know, that doesn't seem very impressive to you. But you wouldn't believe the type of labor people used to have to go through just to download and view an image. (I'll avoid the subject of what images people were looking at.)
-------- END --------

Prior to the Web, you have to find FTP servers that stored that stuff. (Which from what I heard wasn't easy.) Then down load the images. (Remember, you don't get previews with FTP, so you don't have a clue if you'll like what you're downloading.) Then have another program that could view GIFs or JPEGs to view the image. (And those were very specialized programs.)

#2: People's desire to view porn movies is what made broadband Internet (like DSL and Cable) popular...
------- BEGIN -------
So everyone got Broadband Internet, and now you can watch video... well almost. We can watch short little clips. (I'll avoid discussing what videos people were watching.)
-------- END --------

Prior to broadband Internet you had to wait 1 or more hours to download short video clips. (And full movies could take days.) But with broadband you could do the same in a number of minutes.

#3: (Although not mentioned in that article) the online porn industry has been driving the development of video codecs. (Things like Vivo, DivX, XviD, etc etc became popular because of the online porn industry.)

So to answer the "right" question of "should Apple have rejected that app".... The answer is "no", because although the iPod Touch and iPhone are popular now, porn can "make" a product, and if something else comes along and "supports" porn people might flood to it, and abandon Apple's products.

Is it silly? Yes. Is it mandatory? No. Should Apple have pulled it from the app store? Not if they leave "pull my finger" and "iFart" on.
You can already watch on-line porn on your iphone (safari, anyone?) and even load it with XXX movies (handbrake will load any DVD) so really this is not new territory.

All species have an inherent need to procreate. This is a fundamental way for a species to survive. The male homosapien also has the same inherent needs as other species. This leads to an increased need to see the genitals of the opposite sex. While the female breasts are not scientifically deemed genitalia, Western civilization has put the false taboo that female breasts are deemed indecent and thus thrusts the need to censor them.

Though Apple has the right to censor any product they deem inproper, I believe this just prevents many legitimate apps that would be useful or wanted by the population. This would limit the amount of income generated and thus would be counterproductive of Apple.

Oh, and I'd download it if it was cheap enough. They're boobies!

I don't allow myself to be offended by inane crap like this, it is entirely irrelevant to my life. The only reason I'm answering this is to say that while for stupid things like this it doesn't matter, Apple is doing a huge disservice to themselves and their users by having such a restrictive app development and release process. Currently the iPhone is the more polished than Android on the G1, but once Android works out it's kinks, available apps will be the biggest distinguishing factor b/w the two OSs, and Android has a HUGE advantage there. If apple doesn't open up, the iPhone will sink like a shiny, fingerprint covered stone.

Offensive? No. Immature? Yes.

As to whether or not Apple should have rejected it, I think they made the right decision. Even though I am sure there are people who would have purchased this app, they were smart by drawing the line early on.

It's not so much offensive as it helpful. It helps society define who is and who is not a scumbag. One who walks around with that app on their phone probably falls into the "is a scumbag" category. Unless it's a lady, in which case she's probably dating a scumbag.

Most iPhone owners are classier than to buy such an application. But Apple should let the market decide instead of rejecting it.

I think Apple definately should not have rejected it. It is slightly inapproperiate, but that does not mean Apple should pull its plug.

In fact, if you look on the #1 top download list as of now, it is iFart, which is exactly what it sounds like. I don't see what is the fundemental difference between that best-seller and this boob-shaker.

Except that this is sexier, of course.

I think it's hilarious. There are much more offensive things than this available. Apple has a "mature" section this would fit perfectly in - otherwise what on earth is that section for? If people want to buy it, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to.

That said - I certainly wouldn't buy it, but I have no problem with others doing so.

this is offensive, but it's one (well, two really) more reason to jailbreak the iPhone.

This is silly, and you can understand why it was rejected. Thanks to being rejected, they will probably sell quite a few, um, pairs of this application. You know apple would never approve it. (look for this app soon for the android phone!)

Perfect application for the accelerometer. The demo doesn't show if it supports touchscreen.

Is the user stuck with that one set of settings? or are there user selectable parameters.

speaking of horrible applications, have they ported "Porrasturvat" (Stair Dismount) to the iPhone yet?

If it's not even porn (I didn't bother viewing the video) than I understand even less why anyone would pay for it. To see cleavage? Why? I can see real life in person cleavage by looking up from my phone at, you know, the world, at any given moment of the day.

This is true, however I don't think this is "porn" I don't think anybody will be taking this behind the bushes. I would put it in the same category as a fart noise maker, its silly, its rude but man is it funny.
