I do! There is a papaya that is very good, but very expensive. I bought one ($3!) and my friend planted the seeds in her yard. We had tons of papayas, and they were yummy! I planted chayote squash one year. The fruit itself is actually the seed, and it grows like wildfire. I've planted mangos and avocadoes when I was in a colder climate, just to have a pretty house plant. I want to try to plant dragon fruit and passion fruit. The seeds are really tiny, and I've tried before, but with no luck.

They were never green though, the began sort of a purple color and finished out red. They had a weird flavor too sweet rather than spicy.

Actually, all green peppers are red peppers. Green peppers are literally "green", as in unripe. Once they are ripe, they turn red.

Sounds like an intriguing idea! Unfortunately, I've never been able to make it work. Back in elementary school, I was barely able to coax some sad squash from store-bought seeds -- the kind that's SOLD to be easy to grow. Grocery store foods introduce a lot more complications and questions about how viable those seeds are.

If you know of an easy way to make something grow, though, or have any tips, please let me know! It'd be nice to make my food stretch farther.

Yes, I do! And the fruits that easily grow in my place are the tropical fruits like avocado (alligator pear), papaya, durian, Malay apple, rambutan, santol, mango, pomelo and calamansi. I tried planting apple seeds but they don't even sprout.

I haven't since I was a kid planting apple seeds. I think I got some saplings to grow. And I've let potatoes unintentionally sprout in the cupboard :-/
