Do you believe in Extraterrestials or life on other planets ? Why?

Recently there are news that scientists are discovering ''Earth like planets'' which are quite some light years away from earth.

So if there is an environment present like earth, there has to be some sort of life forms available in those planets. However, they can be advanced than humans or can be microbials.

In my opinion, an earth like environment is not necessary to have a life form. Nowadays there are new bacterias (micro-organisms) being discovered which can exist even in extreme environments. So that increases the probability of life forms existing in planets having non-earth like environments.

M$I think there's a more interesting followup question Kareul (see the bottom of this post)... but first, a little history (yaaaaaawn!):
In terms of intellectual history, we see small tribes that think that they were uniquely created by god as god's people, then they discover other tribes and find out they are not unique. So they band together (and fight with) these other tribes and create a city-state that is uniquely favored by their god. Eventually, these city states band together to form a unique nation-state at the center of the map which, of course, has its own god that is clearly the one true god that... is better than all the other nation-states (once those are discovered). We humans eventually figure out that all of these nation-states live on a planet, which is clearly and obviously the center of the Known Universe.
And then Copernicus comes along and points out that the sun is really the center of the Universe. Except that it's not, of course, but we didn't figure that out until about 100 years ago. So, what's the next step?!
OK, now the more interesting question (which you should ask). Given that life on Earth is certainly not unique in the Universe (arrogant, human hubris about how great we are aside):
Given that extraterrestrial life exists, has it visited us here on Earth?

M$1. We live in a galaxy of potentially tens of millions of earth like planets, which could be water worlds, slightly larger or smaller worlds, they could be between earth and mars with respect to their physical features, or they could be like be covered with ice but warm enough to where there is water under the ice and have deep sea vent creatures like on earth.
2. This solar system obits around the edge of the Galaxy about every 220 million years. This planet has been bombarded with meteors, asteroids and comets during that time. The first life arose around 3.8 billion years ago, so not only could there be extraterrestrials out there but it could be that we were seeded from some where else and in turn we seeded some other planet. This is just my belief.
3. I think in the next 10 or 20 years will have a better idea of what is out there. Part of the problem is that people want to go on believing what they believe, well my money is on the alien landing before the second coming of Christ.
4. pure speculation here but this website offers an interesting read http://www.krysstal.com/extrlife.html and the http://gravitywarpdrive.com/ website is the creation of someone I know that works as a nuclear engineer and trains engineers at SONGS in San Diego County.

M$I am quite sure it's possible to have life on other planets. I doubt that it's like star trek with humanoid lifeforms as aliens, but I'm quite sure there has to be at least a basic virus or bacteria-like creature somewhere out there.By the way I found a website that give you prizes for your opinions here is the topic about this:
