http://www.researchchannel.org/images/inst/uw/stroke_default.jpg The warning signs of stroke are sometimes ignored, especially by people who are too stoic to see them.
They think it is just "a little pain" or "a little dizziness" and it will go away.
If you do have any stroke symptoms, you need medical attention immediately, within minutes. Yes, call 911 Emergency.
You need a thorough evaluation to be sure any sudden diziness, loss of consciousness, severe headache or sudden loss of mental alertness is caused by stroke or something else.

Thank you for bringing stroke to our attention. I've helped care for grandparents, friends and other relatives who are patients. No I am not a doctor. Cheers! :)

Understanding that a stroke is a 'brain attack' and needs to be responded to with the same urgency as a heart attack has been a difficult concept to get across to people. Current day interventions can reduce recovery time by months and years.
