I'll go with Lares, it is on the edge of Santa Monica. Avoid using their valet though if you have a car with a manual transmission (they nearly destroyed a family member's M6). Lares is on Pico, and is just a few blocks away from Santa Monica College. I really like their guacamole and chicken tacos.

Serenata de Garibaldi on 4th is really good. Lots of ez parking too in the Promenade lots nearby
