What is the best value tripod and ballhead for a D90?
I'm looking for a good quality tripod (not a cheapo sunpak) and a ballhead (they can be seperate). I have a D90 and will not be using any large lenses, biggest lens is a 28-300 superzoom and possibly a fisheye later on. I am looking for best value because I don't want to spend 800 bucks on a tripod, I want something portable, lightweight and of good quality.

Manfrotto is my preferred choice for tripods. I have a heavy duty one and my boss uses one like the link below but with a different head. This should hold up well for you and not be too heavy. BH Photo is a great place to buy photo gear as well. they have a great web site, and if you can you get to talk to a real person.

Actually no, I found that none of these proved to be useful answers for me. I was looking for something that provided options, if you'd like an example of a good answers look at Rob Brown's answers. http://www.mahalo.com/answers/consumer-electronics/what-is-the-best-notebook-camera-bag

For the tripod head I'd recommend Manfrotto. A good Manfrotto head will set you back about $100, but in the long run it's worth it. For the base you'll wanna check out either Manfrotto, Gitzo and Velbon. They all make the best light weight and high quality tripods.
