A website/app/formlua to calculate calories burned walking, when I know the distance IN KM (I have a GPS) and weight IN KG.
Most sites are in lb and miles, and I'm not going to do the conversion. Also, most sites/apps assume you have a time exercised and an approximate speed... what I have is a specific distance traveled and I want to base it on that (it seems most sites/apps are from a pre-gps world).
If one doesn't exist, I'll accept a formula that can put in a spreadsheet.

Once again, imperial measurements. I did see both of those one google. One of them is based on time not distance, and the other one is pure overkill.

Though there is no out right formula for it , algorithmic formula is available probably statistical one i guess , from " President's council on Physical Fitness and Sports organization " . it calculates calories burned by using speed, weight,& distance . Speed Miles Per Hour----- Calories/Hr for each pound of bod weight
less than 2 ------------------------- 0.95 * ur weight in pounds
2 -------------------------- 1.19 * ur weight in pounds
2.5 -------------------- -----1.41* ur weight in pounds
3----------------------- -----1.57 * ur weight in pounds
3.5--------------------------- 1.78 * ur weight in pounds
4 -----------------------------2.36* ur weight in pounds
4.5----------------------- ----2.97* ur weight in pounds
5-------------------------- ---3.79* ur weight in pounds
fr or eg , if ur GPS says u walked 12 miles in 4 hours and ur weight is 75 pounds then u can calculate your average distance you covered in an hour =distance covered /time taken=12/4 = 3miles
for 3 miles ,its 1.57 calories burned per pound per hour i.e.., 1.57*your weight in pounds =117.75 calories , and you walked for 4 hours so , 117.75*4=471 calories .
r if u wanna get rid of all this paper pencil work u can use the site http://www.indiacurry.com/ncalculators/walkingcaloriecalculator.htm or u can buy Nike + ipod (irun) . this gadget calculates calories burned by the impulse u r generating with the ground . directly indirectly it uses all those parameters u r looking for .

That's a fairly extensive answer, but I was pretty specific about not wanting imperial measurements. I know it's only $2 tip, but I offered the money because I was swamped in sites in imperial measurements and I really didn't want to have to do the math. There must be a site out there somewhere in metric.

It's a shame that MA doesn't seem to provide any way I can make a general comment on the question, or answer my own question... so I'll put my final comment here:
I've reverse engineered the formula used by my calorie counting program (that I don't actually use anymore).
It uses a simply formula that works out to be:
Weight (in KG) * 0.8 * distance (in KM) = calouries burned
As simple as that. And it doesn't factor in speed at all, which I acknowledge is probably inaccurate, but as a quick guide is probably good enough.
I've compared my calculations based on that formula with the answeres calculated by Nokia Sports Tracker and they are within about 1% regardless of average speed, so they must be using a very similar formula.
So it seems that I can probably trust the answers that I get straight out of that, at least as a rough guide.
Since I had to work out the formula my self and since I didn't get any answers in metric and since no more feedback would be useful, i'm going to select 'no best answer' and tip everybody I think provided something positive the the discussion.

http://www.indiacurry.com/ncalculators/walkingcaloriecalculator.htm here i think u can get both measures . its up to u to select KG or POUNDS . thought u ppl use FPS so i gave example with those measures .

@anilarora pretty much has it (nice answer) but I did want to add... you sort of NEED the time or speed you have walked. Because, for example (a 190lb person) walking 3 miles/hour would only burn around 150-200 calories, walking 5 miles/hour is more like 300, and 11 miles an hour (jogging) is more like 1000. So you could say 5 miles, but if you walked 5 miles in 2 hours your going to burn very little calories compared to doing 5 miles in 30 minutes. When moving slower you are moving more linear and don't have to lift much of your weight off the ground, just transfer weight from leg to leg. When you walk quickly or run, it is less linear, and you have to exert the energy to lift your weight off the ground. That's why there is such a big difference. Does your gps not have an average speed for the trip function? Or time function? Every one I've seen so far does.
Also, all you have to do to make the conversion in type "###cm in inches" and "##kg in lbs" into google. Then just write them down and it will solve you a lot of problems. Should take about 10 seconds. Why are you unwilling to do the conversion, considering your willing to spend the time to make a spreadsheet?
You will not be able to get an exact number but you could get a rough estimate. Just determine once how fast you generally walk and figure out the calories/km (you could even post the numbers here and someone will help you out) and then you can just say ##calories per km. Walking average speed, depending on your weight, should be around 50 I'm guessing, since it's about 400 walking 1 hour at a moderate pace, but there are too many factors to figure it out with just 2 numbers.
Another way to get a rough estimate might be to just figure out your bmr. Doesn't give you an exact number, but it'll tell you what you use in a day.

very lengthy reply , so nice to see some very innocent and eager to know answers .Im giving answers para wise so u can understand better
lemme tell u how wiki defines walking - "Walking is generally distinguished from running in that only one foot at a time leaves contact with the ground; for humans and other bipeds, running begins when both feet are off the ground with each step." with this definition its very rare somebody walking with the speed above 5 miles an hour . if hez walking 5 miles in 30 min he must be v gr8 athlete or some other but certainly not the one whoz concentrating on dieting and health . as this question came in this section i thought this answer should be more practical rather theoretical .
I really dont have GPS instrument myself . but im sure it can calculate distance travel and time taken it must be available in gps . as i know GPS calculates speed of the instrument it must be calculating distance and time .and im an indian ( asian ) we people use MKS system, not same with US people . as they use FPS , i never took pain converting values .
yep i agree but this algorithm is statistical , its more realistic may not very accurate . even if its 10 to 20 percent error u can still go with this algorithm.
yep body mass index may give better result . still it lacks accuracy . what abt sexy gals with long legs like my gal friend their BMI is less , though she takes number of steps xctly like me . she always leaves me behind.

The reason I don't want it based on time is simple. If you simply take time and distance, there is no allowance for taking a break (such as stopping for lunch or to take a photo). Simply taking time and distance and using that to calculate speed doesn't work for a hike, or a walk to the shops, or a photographic walk, where you stop frequently.
I can estimate my walking speed at about 4km/h and it's pretty consistant... Nokia sports tracker will calculate calouries based on average speed but does not take into account the fact that you stopped for half an hour for lunch, for example. Hence you're average speed for the entire journey is much lower than your actual speed whilst walking.
So I'd really like a formula that let's you use actual distance and an estimate of speed, rather than the other way around (speed and time to estimate distance).
Hence it's a pretty specific sort of request... I find it hard to believe I'm the only person to encounter this problem, but maybe I am.

The guys at About.com have a nice calculator: http://walking.about.com/library/cal/uccalc1.htm
You input your approximated speed, your weight and distance and you get your numbers.
Good luck :)

That's the best one so far, still in imperial measurements... it just astounds me that even about.com never realized that the rest of the whole wide world is metric, and provided a checkbox for metric.
