Patrick McDermott disappeared during a fishing trip June 2005. US investigators hired by NBC’s Dateline have discovered that McDermott may have faked his own death to get out of repaying debts and to allow his son to collect a $151,000 insurance policy.
There have been 16 sightings of McDermott in Mexico and he was tracked from Mexico to South America. At this time he is believed to be hiding out.
