about Steve Martin SNL
Did Martin ever wear his 'arrow through the head' on SNL, and if so, on what date (or year)? If not, when/where did it first appear? Thanks!
Researching this for a novel I'm writing. I have a character referring to the arrow in Martin's head. The scene is dated June of 1977 but I do not know if that is too early in time to refer to it, as I can't find any SNL skit timelines that give a specific date nor can I find a date for when it first appeared in Martin's comedy skits.

According to this Amazon.co description of the Video: Saturday Night Live: Best of Steve Martin, he did wear the Arrow Through Head on SNL during his infamous "Banjo-playing monologue."
Second link below to SNL transcript indicates that this this was Season 2, episode 5 in 1976.

There was an opening Martin did (don't know when) when he sings a song about "It's great to be me." when a Martin look-alike stands up with the white suit and arrow through his head. Funny as hell...
