Some of the key issues are:
Shipping.
Tax.
& policies
Looking at the lowest prices on froogle, the lowest price is $232 - but that's from clickadeal, and they're a UK company. I couldn't quickly find any specific policies about it, but I assume they're not in the regular business of cheaply shipping to the US.
The next price is $237 from securemart - but they want 12.92 for shipping, are in ca so you, living in ca will pay ca sales tax on top of that, and their policies basically say you can not return this item for any reason whatsoever.
CTIstore has it for $241 but their return/credit policy isnt so great.. 15-20% fee for store credit, and returns must happen within 20 days. No tax however to CA residents, and free shipping. Coming from the East Coast probably -- ground shipping so it might take a little while longer. Unknown company so I can't personally vouch for them. A significant number of negative reviews on pricegrabber.com's reviews section.
Nextwarehouse.com has it for 242 but it's an unknown company in California -- free shipping, but you pay CA sales tax.
Costcentral.com has it for $243 - I've heard of this company but have never ordered from them personally. Free shipping. Company located in PA so probably no tax for CA residents. May be your best bet for a company you might not have heard of.
The next best price (and a pretty darn good company) is newegg at 249.99, however they are in Cali -- and hence you would probably have to pay about $20 in sales tax.. making it about 269. However, shipping is free, and you can get 2% cashback via fatwallet.com cashback (before tax) ... so thats about 264.
If you order from Buy.com, there is free shipping, and you can get 1% fatwallet cashback, and there is a $5 coupon code available (you can usually combine coupon codes from fatwallet's code pages with their cashback program, but other codes invalidate their cashback) or you could use live.com cashback (it has a variable 1.0%-5.0% cashback for purchases from buy.com -- I'm never certain about their variable cashback, but I have used their program before.) However, if you buy from buy.com you have to pay California sales tax.
If you buy from Overstock.com as mentioned, they have a pricematch policy, but $2.95 shipping. You don't however have to pay sales tax (only Utah residents do.) There is a 2.0%-7.0% live.com cashback for overstock.com - however, live.com cashback is invalidated by coupons, etc. usually. There is 4% cashback from fatwallet.com -- and a $15 off $300 coupon... if you were to buy something else to make your total over $300. You *might* be able to combine the pricematch, coupon, and fatwallet cashback, but I'm not entirely sure. I wonder if they will pricematch the 241-243$ prices from the smaller competitors (probably not, but I guess they would pricematch amazon.com -- anyways it wouldnt hurt to ask and point out the 241-243$ prices and also the fact they don't charge shipping!)
Amazon.com is no sales tax and free super saver shipping.
If you are willing to go with a smaller company that you might not have heard of before, I would suggest Costcentral.com -- if not, I would go with one of the following options.
So, if you don't want to go with a relatively unknown company, it looks like your best bet is either overstock.com with the pricematch, an additional item purchased to bring up your total, the coupon, and if you can get it the fw cashback.. or you could try to get the pricematch, and the fatwallet.com cashback -- and don't worry about another item and the coupon. No tax, but $2.95 shipping - if the 4% cashback works, it will more than pay for your shipping cost.
Alternatively the amazon.com purchase is your next best choice. -- no cashback available.. and no coupon that I could find yet.. but at least it's no sales tax and no shipping at a decent price, and no need to bother to ask for the price match.
(Alternatively, you can find the s300 for a little less than the s300m -- but I don't know what the differences are, I assume you chose the s300m for a reason.)
You can also get free readiris pro software via mail... before the end of this month, probably from any appropriate retailer...

Can you find the Fujitsu ScanSnap S300M scanner for less than $253.36?
I've scoured the web and can't find a better deal than what both buy.com and amazon.com are offering: the Fujitsu ScanSnap S300M for $253.36.
Can you find a better deal than that?
I'm open to you using a combination of site price plus coupon codes found elsewhere that actually work with the site you found.
