I went last Sunday and the deals were pathetic. There were plenty of people in the store but nobody was buying anything because a 10% discount on most items just isn't enough. There were still palettes of items in the aisles like they expected things to sell out.
Circuit City and every other electronics store like it had better weekly sales in the past few months.
I would stay home and browse newegg.com if you are looking to spend money. I don't think I would drive out of my way to go back to Circuit City and even if I was in a mall that had one again I would walk right by it without a second thought.

Are the Circuit City liquidation sales as bad as everyone is saying they are?

Articles like this have me questioning whether I should even go to Circuit City to look for deals. Anyone have any personal experiences getting deals at Circuit City since they announced they are closing?

The circuit city stores around here are already long gone; they closed around Christmas time. Even during the final weeks, the deals weren't really anything special. We went to find a cheap tv, and there weren't any good deals all they had were outdated and/or low quality models.

I would not call them sales. They normally already have everything marked down to 20% off normally. They are just marked down to 25% off of a 6000.00 TV. They didn't mark any of there stuff down any more on Black Friday everything was still the same prices it had always been. the sales are pointless and there ever going to get rid of stuff the way they are going!

I have to agree with everybody else. I went in to one of their stores last week and the sales were not good. The store seemed busy but people were just looking around more than anything else. I would not go back in there again. I don't think you should bother wasting your time going there either.

I just went to circuit city today. Not only are the sales not good. The customer service was worse. The personel I encountered are not their regular employees but the liquidator's employees I guess. I walked out of the store without buying anything and was followed a few minuites later by the door receipt checker and scoped out all the way to my vehicle. I noticed him and asked why he was following me. He just turn around and didn't respond. I followed him back into the store and insisted on an explaination. He said it looked like I had a box in my hand. I had a small box of candy when I walked right by this guy on my way in and out of the store. The entrance had the electronic alarms for unpaid goods. So he really had no cause to follow me. He offered no appology so I asked to speak to the manager to make him aware of the shabby treatment. He make the excuse that it was busy and the manager was busy. I insisted and finally the manager comes to the front. I tried to explain the low class treatment. The manager is not only not understanding but joins in on futher bad customer service and threatens to call the police because I'm causing a scene. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I asked for the cooporate # and the names of the manager and the employee to file a complaint. The manager continues to threaten calling the police and reluctantly hands me a scribbled number someone else hands him. I called the number and it's closed for the day. I went to their web site circuitcity.com, but there is nothing there. So I decided to Google other complaints. That's how I found this site. When a company lets their employees treat customers badly and has no process for filing a complain. It is no wonder they are going out of business.
