Well, this isn't about the TV so much, but a lot of digital camera's today offer video out via RCA cable. I've done this with my Canon SD1100 and Vizio LCD. All you do is plug in the include cable and switch your TV Source, and then you can have a 42" picture frame.

geeks.com offers a cheap polaroid camera that has video out for $47.
Circuit city has a canon sd1100 for $169
Ebay probably has great deals on older used cameras that support this feature... look for an included A/V cable.

Check the inputs. Most plasmas have a video input for either VGA or DVI, you can attach any old computer and run a slideshow to the TV and presto, instant photo frame.

An option that you can choose from is to hook up a DVD player and burn your pictures to a DVD. When loaded, most DVD players give you the option of scrolling through the photos contained on a DVD as a slideshow.

This might be an ideal situation because you can leave that running in the background while watching TV and when you walk away, just switch inputs to the DVD player and the slideshow will just be playing on the TV. An upscaling DVD player might be your best bet though, as regular DVD players won't output in HD.
