Stereotypically, men tend to get goal oriented and focused. This could be, focused on getting back together or focused on the next relationship.

Because most men are not connected to their feelings, they will also go to anger or depression (in my experience, the two ends to the feelings spectrum)... on top of that, they won't know what to do with those feelings and tend to cope poorly and do bad behavior.

Of course there are healthy and productive coping techniques! That's why people come to see therapists (like me!)... to learn those techniques if they way they are coping is through bad behaviors.

For me, the best coping techniques:
- Identify and accept your feelings (the whole range of feelings)!
- Take away the learning. From your feelings, write down/identify what learning you can take away from the relationship or the ending of the relationship.
- Recognizing that it's not the end of the world. Dealing the the sadness of loss is tough, but it will lessen with time.
