Warning About Dating Questions
Answered Question

Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
There is a girl that I wanna ask out, but don't have the money to pay for both, how do I ask her and not come off as a jerk for not paying?
There is a girl in one of my classes that I have been helping on homework for a while now and I kinda wanna ask her out, I have her phone number, she gave it to me to tell her when I'd be in the computer lab to help her on said homework, and I wouldn't mind taking her on a date... But as a college kid without a job, I really can't afford say... dinner and a movie for 2, especially since my dad lost his job. So how can I ask her out without comming off as a jerk by bluntly saying up front you gatta front your half of the bill?

That being said...who said you have to go to dinner and a movie? Dinner is fine, but seeing a movie isn't great for first dates. You need to do something that gives you a chance to talk and interact.
Some of the best dates I've ever had involved experiences that were free. Use a little creativity to plan something fun, while still keeping her interests and personality in mind. A few ideas: go on a picnic, go to a park and be a kid again, go to an arcade, see a free on-campus play or performance. Things like this are often more fun (and memorable!) for women than the traditional date ideas.
Good luck!

Free events are the best. People believe that dating requires money and demonstration of the ability to provide. Yes, if you want to get married. No, if your socializing and having fun. Look for Church events that don't cost money, a free musical, or community event. Site seeing and a packed lunch. Ideas:
1. Attend a college forum together
2. Visit a free museum
3. A walk around the rose gardens
4. Hiking on a trail
5. Bike ride
6. Horse back riding
7. Feed the ducks at the pond
8. Watch the college soccer team practice (no admission)
9. Church dance

Cheap as Free! Besides, who CAN afford movie ticket prices nowadays?
Something at your place or hers would be a little too fast for a first date.
If you can afford it, lunch or dinner for two.
Or go to a muesum or an art gallery. Most of those are cheap or free to enter. Then you can take her out for coffee or ice cream afterwards.
Open mic night at a coffee shop. Might be a little noisy for a first date, but hey, it's cheap.
Any rose gardens or parks in your area? If the weather is right, you might already have some blooms.
