If you're over 40, are you still waiting for "the one"?

If you're over 40, are you still waiting for "the one"? How long would you wait for the love of your life? When is it time to start reassessing if your standards are out line with the reality of the dating market?

I'm not one of those people, but I'd like to comment.

"The one" is a falsehood. There is NOT just one person, a "soul mate" if you will, for you. (As @danielle had asked in another question), you must FIRST start with a good friendship and THEN move on to an intimate relationship. There are plenty of friends you can have and THAT is the foundation of a more intimate relationship.

I met the love of my life at age 39. So please do not give up. I had been married before and had a son. He was a senior in high school when I met the man I was to marry. We will be married 20 years on December 2nd of this year.
