Because it's not occupied by Sears - it's occupied by Willis Group Holdings.

No Sears, no Sears Tower.

My opinion: It's a historic-ish building! Why rename it?

That's a terrible tragedy! a despicable mistake! a horrific travesty! I hadn't heard of that till now. They can't do that to all the old books! I refuse to submit to such bureaucratic malarkey. Grrr.

In Toronto, our SkyDome has been renamed the Rogers Centre for years now. Remember Charlotte Motor Speedway? It's now Lowe's Motor Speedway. To be honest with you, I don't really mind. As long as buildings and venues I care about get the revenue they need to continue to operate, I'm happy.
