Sounds like Musavi would be the lesser of to evils, so to speak.

Quoted from: http://mrzine.monthlyreview.org/crs110609.html

"The Obama Administration is officially neutral in the contest. However, virtually all observers believe that the Administration perceives that Ahmadinejad's defeat would benefit U.S. interests by enhancing the potential for Iran to meet international demands to curb its nuclear program."

"There also is a view in the Administration that a Musavi presidency would proceed more cautiously on support for Shiite Islamist and other Islamist movements, such as Hezbollah, Hamas, Iraqi Shiite militias, and dissident movements in the Gulf states. This increases the prospects for a lessening of tensions between Iran and its neighbors and other countries in the region. On the other hand, some argue that Iran's foreign policy is a product of consensus in Iran's leadership and that Iran's policy under a Musavi presidency would differ little from that observed under Ahmadinejad."

I suspect a win for Musavi would suit USA best as he's more likely to bow down on nuclear demands.

One thing is for sure and that is that Ahmadinejad won't concede in this important area.

It's not going to make any difference who wins or loses. Iran is run by clerics, and the President is just a puppet for them.

Interesting statement I know what you mean, but to benefit the community you could always back up statements like this by providing additional information, such as sources or news articles?

Ideally @davepamn would be the surprise write-in candidate. Unexpectedly usurping all others by a landslide of semi-legal internet votes from Mahalo members.
@davepamn 's onslaught of thought provoking ideas and questions changes the very political and cultural foundation of Iran, forever changing the outlook of the Iranian people to one of cooperation and altruism.
First instituting a Muslim led peace process that sparks a revolutionary and radical shift of power for the better throughout the Middle East.
Leading to a "Garden of Eden" attitude held peacefully by the citizens of a soon to be founded United Middle East Utopia (U.M.E.U.) that unifies the entire region and stabilizes the local and world economy.

Foreign Policy is determined by the Guardian Council and not the President.

That said, if Mousavi wins, his administration would be filled with professionals (as opposed to theocrats) and would provide ground-work for talks with the West.

Doesn't matters whatever the result is, Iran isn't in mood to show respect to USA. And, not even Iranian citizens are in that much love with USA to urge their government to have good relationships with USA.
