The Hassan chop stems from a Bugs Bunny cartoon called 'Ali Baba Bunny' in which a character named Hassan tries to chop at Bugs while yelling, "Hassan Chop!"

In the popular Bugs Bunny cartoon "Ali Baba Bunny," a rich Sultan had a large bodyguard named Hassan who would say "Hassan CHOP" every time he attacked Bugs or Daffy with his sword.

Recently in the news a man named Muzzammil Hassan cut off his wife's head after she filed for divorce. The news stories have brought back memories of the cartoon catchphrase.
