I think it was stupid that he was suspended for nodding and waving to President Obama (the way I see it he was acknowledging the President of the United States and showing respect). That said, I do understand the reasoning behind his suspension--he broke military protocol and it was a military parade. I do think that suspension was overkill because his actions weren't that noticeable. Maybe a stern reprimand would have been satisfactory.

Do you think John Coleman should have been suspended for waving to President Obama?
During the Inauguration Parade, drum major John Coleman nodded and waved to President Obama after the two made eye contact. Coleman was later suspended from the band for six months for going against established military protocol and proper decorum. Do you agree with the bandleaders decision, or think he overreacted?
