This is a breaking story so it maybe early to conclude....but the evidence is pointing to yes. His name is also being reported as Ervin Lupoe on some outlets
CNN has confirmed from police that Ervin Lupoe sent a fax to a TV station detailing his job problems and telling them he killed his wife, his 5 kids and afterwords he killed himself, they are calling it a murder-suicide

The New York Daily News reported that authorities have in their possession a note that was signed by Ervin Anthony Lapoe, which described his despondency from his job situation. Also, a note was found in the home, which authorities stated could be described as a suicide note. However, the coroner has not yet identified the male body as being that of Lapoe. So, authorities have not issued an official statement as to who committed the murders.
