Are car dealers using coupons to attract new customers or encourage old customers to trade-in and buy new?

Have coupons been used by car dealers?

I know my Chevy dealer often sends me mail about trading in my Cavalier towards the purchase of a new car. I would guess other dealers do the same thing.

No I don't think so, but they say that payments on a new car will be less than payments on my current car. The only thing is, my car is paid off so I don't have any current payments.
