Do you think that organ transplant tourists to China are/were aware that their new organs probably came from Falun Gong members?

See http://organharvestinvestigation.net/ organ harvesting for a full report of this event and recent news releases.

Is there any evidence specifically from tourists who received the organs?

Actually, there's not enough Falun Gong prisoners in China to meet the demand from "organ tourists"...

It would be more accurate to ask whether or not "organ tourists" know their organs are being taken from prisoners of all stripes saved until the moment of transplant.

You might remember how it used to be that China would have mass public execustions once per year in stadiums, as the prisoners were lined up, their crime and sentence read and they were shot in the back of the head (which you gotta admit is rather swift and mercifull compared to something like an electric chair...)

Well... they don't do those mass public executions anymore. Now guilty convicts are walking organ banks.

And no... the majority are not Falun Gong.

Remember how Sci-Fi writers used to speculate that if organ transplanting got easy, then the death penalty would be pushed down to trivial crimes?

In China, you can get the death penatly for stealing one meter of copper wire from a public utility line, if you're caught close to an organ-tourist facility.

The rational is that stealing copper wire from a public utility line can risk the lives of others, and even cause death, if it causes something like failure of traffic lights, or failure of refridgeration to allow growth of deadly bacteria on food, or failure of the telephone system when someone was trying to make an emergency call, or failure of power to a building with life-support equipment in it (possible if it's in a district with organ-tourist facilities)...

... And you know what? It almost makes sense, doen't it... so I'd keep an eye on the legislators in your jurisdiction if I were you.

Thanks for your interesting answer. I have read that the persecuted include Christians, Tibetans and others who pose a perceived threat to the government, but where is there information on the percent of prisoners from each category: political, petty criminal, felons, etc.? If you could point me to that source (if it exists, and even if it is an anecdotal account from some former official or prisoner in China), it would be helpful in understanding this issue better. Otherwise, how do you know that the majority are not Falun Gong members?

How? Because there's way more people arrested in China all the time for everything compared to the total number of Falun Gong in the world.
