Could I use my AP scores as an "Academic Honor" on my resume?

I got fives on both the English Language and US History exam.
Tip for best answer: M$0.37
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Any academic achievement, especially ones that significant, should be included on your resume. They help show employers and college advisors that you are able to apply yourself and work hard for the maximum grade and would truly be an asset to either their company or their college.

Additionally, they help build credibility and character. Make sure you include any other outstanding achievements and awards you have won.

Bear in mind, individual grades are too much detail. Instead, mention your overall grade point average - GPA - and standardized test scores. There is no need to list individual grades in certain subjects from standardized tests. Colleges will get this information anyway when you submit your application.

Here are a few links that give a bit more detailed descriptions of what to include in a successful and noticeable high school resume:

College Confidential article

Education Bug article with good examples and lots of info:

Good luck! Hope this helps!

Of course. A achievement like that must be include in your resume. A lot of companies are really impressed with that kind of achievement. I have a friend who apply in a company and he include in his resume that he is a guild master on a online game. Looking at it, you will not think that it is not helpful for him but it is a surprise that, that is the reason why he is hired. I think this article will help you with that UAE Jobs

I would say it's okay to use your AP high scores as an achievement, but they aren't exactly an 'honor'. An honor means an award or a prize of some sort, bestowed upon you. An achievement is rather something you have earned, and your scores were definitely earned by you.

While you're young and you're still in college and seeking work, I'd highly recommend putting high AP scores on a resume.

However, once you're fully into the workforce, once college is behind you, those AP scores won't mean much of anything, and should come off your resume in favor of more recent achievements.

Congratulations on your high scores! My daughter received high AP scores in several subjects and was able to get college credit for them in college and she managed to AP test out of an entire 1 1/2 semester's worth of college course work in English, History and Math. Keep up the good work!
