My Grandma always used to put a little mint extract in her tea. I prefer to just stick with honey.

You could always just check out some great new flavors and varieties of tea.

http://www.adagio.com/

has tons and tons of varieties and gives alot of info. Tea Rocks!

If you want a natural sweetener, use honey. It will add a nice flavor to the tea as well if you use some good honey (remember, different honey has different flavors!).

If you want to blend your own style of tea, I encourage you to use loose leaf teas. Start off with a white or green tea (more gentle flavor to begin with) to which you could add any number of spices like cinnamon or rosemary (of course, you'd want to steep the rosemary along with the tea leaves and evacuate the rosemary before you drink!). A benefit of using something such as rosemary is that it increases circulation, so if you have poor circulation this could be for you.. Just be wary, it increases blood pressure too.

Hot tea is THE best way to drink tea in my opinion (I'm a huge tea fan). If you want to start off with a more bold tea (such as black tea) and add flavors to THAT, you'll want to choose additives with a bit stronger flavor to overcome the bolder flavor of the tea (like black tea with a touch of nutmeg).

Hope that helps! :)

While I know your question asked about things you can add to Tea for flavoring I would actually suggest you give Tea Blends a try if you want to achieve different flavors!

If you enjoy exotic teas from all over the world, I'd suggest you check out Upton Tea (http://www.uptontea.com). They have an amazing variety of different teas; I'm a fan of oolong tea and all the varieties I've tried so far I'd consider favorites.

Boil diced ginger in 1 part sugar, 1 part water for 10 minutes. Add a teaspoon of this to your tea.

You can store this, and it will crystallize eventually, but either way it will dissolve in the hot tea.

I generally add a spot of gin. It doesn't take a recipe, you just splash some in after making the cup.

I use two teabags of a blended tea. That really ups the flavor.

If you're talking just straight black, green, or oolong tea, make sure that you use the proper temperature of water. Then, you can add sachets of herbs and spices you like, like mint, or cinnamon, or even dried fruit.

Capella Flavor Drops makes all kinds of flavors that can be added to any beverage, pudding, or ice cream, too.

My favorite hot tea recipe:

Make an extra-strong cup of Celestial Seasonings' Gingerbread Tea in an oversized mug. Add a couple of packets of stevia and stir. Then fill up the rest of the mug with whipped cream. You're drinking dessert!
