One of my best friends attended Harvard Summer School, and he found it to be a great experience before attending regular college. Harvard has a well known pre-college program, yet I would not limit your options by only looking at Harvard. There are plenty of other excellent Ivy League universities that have great summer programs. I went to Cornell University Summer College, and I would say that academically this university is on par with the top universities. I think that it really doesn't matter if you attend Harvard to get into a top MBA program, yet rather what course you take, and what grade you receive, as well as your other application parts that will determine your admission to a top MBA program. I think you will certainly benefit from a summer program, yet to think only Harvard is the wrong kind of thinking. There are plenty of great summer programs you could look into.

Is Harvard summer school worth going?
I'm thinking of attending Harvard summer school to take 2 graduate courses (8 credits) and I'm just wondering if its worth it? I'm an IT freelance consultant based in the UK but want to develop some knowledge of Finance & Business, experience the quality of a Harvard education and also improve my chance to get into a top MBA next year.
Considering the economic climate and the fact it will cost about $10k + flights etc. Do I suspend earning income to go to Harvard for 7 weeks? It will be good to get some first-hand experience of those who have attended in the past.
Thanks.

I will look at other programs as you've suggested. I think my main issue with Harvard is the mixing up of people seeking undergraduate and graduate credits together in their Summer School thats making me think the class profile might affect the quality. I've read in some reviews that its just high school kids who go there but the school says a different thing! Do you know about this?
