I dunno about this one man. It would be a rather inefficient way to store books. If you look at most regular bookshelves, there is only a very limited amount of space above each book. Many even have adjustable sizing to make your book storage even more efficient. With a rolodex style book shelf you would lose all 4 corners of space to empty air because of the design. Think of a round peg in a square hole...there's a lot of wasted space. Plus I would think it would have many inefficiencies based on the varying thickness of each book. Not to mention you would have to go with a hefty(and expensive!) spinning mechanism due to the sheer weight of the books. The other reason is that it would be hard to sort through...to not take up half the room, it would have to be flat against the wall, but since while browsing you would want to see the spine, you would have to be facing the edge of the wheel while it spun...
Just my opinion...

Why not have rounded bookshelves, like giant rolling rollodexes?
You sit, and it rolls toward you like a hamster on a wheel?
