Where can I find a simple (as in power on and slideshow starts) digital photo frame with a 7 1/2 foot power cord for my grandmother?

Her nursing home has banned all extension cords and surge protectors. I'm trying to get them to approve a FireShield surge protector, but it doesn't look promising. She has a Matsunichi Photoblitz PF800 frame that works great, but the cord is too short and it has a proprietary end, so universal ac adapter kits don't work. Also, the new frame must be at least 5"x7" so she can see it, but no bigger than 8"x10" because her shelf is small.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can get these at Brookstone. They even have one or a few that run on batteries, so that they don't have to be plugged in.

Another place to look would be Staples, as they also have a wide selection.

Most stores do not tell you the length the cord, but they have models that run on batteries, as well as ones with longer cords.

I'm not sure if they allow wireless extension cords, but this may be something to try if they do allow them.

The wireless extension cords are a great idea, but with all the pacemakers around the nursing home, I doubt they'll permit them.

I should clarify that I've spent the last week going to stores and opening the boxes of each model of photo frame to check the cord length. If the store won't allow me to open them, I've been buying the frames, opening the boxes at home to check the cord length and returning them since none have been longer than 6 feet. I've also been calling stores and making salespeople open the boxes and measure the cords. No success yet.

The battery-operated frames are a great idea, but not practical for this application. I can't depend on the workers at the home to change batteries or plug it in to charge (Grandma can't do this herself). Since I only visit once or twice a week, she would have to go without her pictures until my next visit. Since she can't do much more than sit in her chair and look at her pictures, I don't want her to go without.

The frame she has right now works really well. If the cleaning lady or a wandering Alzheimer's patient accidentally push a button or turn it off, switching the power on starts the slideshow immediately. I've contacted the manufacturer and asked if I could buy a longer cord from them, but they do not have any. I've even tried to have an extension soldered onto the cord, but no one wants to do it because of the liability in case it causes a fire.

I really appreciate the suggestions so far, but I'm hoping someone will know where I can find a simple frame with at least a 7 1/2' cord. Short of that, I'm probably going to have to beg the nursing home to let me pay for the installation of another outlet in Grandma's room.

The Samsung SPF-83V has an 11-foot cord with a rick in the middle. Would that work? I feed this frame wirelessly via Media RSS, and it starts the show automatically when you power it on. I assume it works the same way if you put a memory card in it. My review: http://ourdoings.com/2008-03-01
