Symantec makes anti-virus software to protect your computer from viruses, sypware, and other forms of malware. Symantec has developed a bad image for releasing slow and otherwise poor software, but the latest version, Norton Internet Security 2009, is reportedly much faster and better than previous versions.

Keep in mind tho, the most that Symantec is good for is bogging down your PC, especially during startup... It is a heavy resource user compared to other anti-virus products, like NOD32, Panda, and AVG.... Windows 7 even just released a beta of Microsoft Security Essentials!!! Basically a first party, free antivirus software!
