You will probably like the Livescribe Pulse Smart Pen.
It connects what you write, and hear to the computer, and you'll never miss a word again.

Honestly - Pen and paper.
I've tried PDAs, but unless you're keeping a netbook or laptop with you, it's impossibly hard to keep track of everything you might run across, and handle it electronically. A paper notebook is much faster...and you can always tear pages out if you need to.
If you're still wanting a PDA though, I'd suggest getting an iPhone, Blackberry, or Palm. Almost all of these work the same by way of PDA, but depends on what else you need it for.

I'd forget a PDA and go with either an iPhone or a netbook. PDAs are too much of a compromise would even better tools now exist.

LiveScribe rocks!
It's great for taking notes by the way, I don't necessarily have to write anything down in actuality, you can cover the writing tip and you have virtually unlimited paper should you need it.
My primary PDA is the NR70-V because it was one of the last PDA's to use the 66Mhz dragonball processor.
I standby my opinion tho, if you are A student the Livescribe is the crem dela crem
