I saw it in a store the other day, and I couldn't see any difference in the colors or picture, and the angle of view - especially the vertical - is much less than an LCD or plasma. I'm a little over 6 feet tall, and the set was at my eye level (standing). I backed off about 10 feet and bent my knees, bringing me down a foot or so from the perpendicular, and there was a significant dimming of the screen; so the vertical angle of view is so limited that there would be a noticeable dimming between viewing in a seated or standing position. The advertised horizontal viewing angle is 140 degrees. (I have a new Samsung LCD, which advertises a 178 degree horizontal AOV, and I can't see any dimming, no matter how acute the angle - vertically or horizontally.) Maybe they'll get that deficiency corrected by the time there is enough 3-D content to make that a significant selling point of the Laser TV. For now, however, I can't see any advantage, and the limited AOV and the 3X selling price (not to mention the 10-inch thickness) is a great disadvantage.

NO! Not. Zip. Nil. Nada. Nope. Unh unh. Nyet. Nah.

Go Sony, Panasonic, RCA, ...anything. Check out consumerreports.com if you can finagle a view from a pard who's a member. Join (free) eopinions.com. Check out pcmag.com. Lots of other ratings websites. Find an alternative.

Don't go down that path. Been there, done that.
