Can you help me with windows 7 and homegroups?

I am sharing pictures with a second computer using homegroups, what I need to do is protect the files so the second computer cannot delete them. I want them to be read only. I have tried clicking on the pictures folder and changing under the share menu to read but did not work. please help.

Try this:

Under Libraries on the first computer, right click on Pictures and select "Share with" and then "Homegroup(read)".

Please see attached screenshot.

Not sure if this is what you tried, but it works for me and hope it works for you as well.
