Laptop questions...
Okay, I'm buying a laptop (it's at ____). It's use is a desktop replacer and I want to be sppedy. My current piece-of-garbage computer has 489 Mg of RAM and it sucks. On this new computer, I am going to type, use the internet, play Morrowind, Halo, Halo 2, Oblivion an Elder Scrolls V when released. I am going to get an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 video card and 2 extra Gs of RAM that will total 6 Gs. Do you think that I need the max of 8 Gs of RAM or should I go even farther with an NVIDIA GeForce 9500? Let me know please! I do have my heart set on THIS laptop, so do not suggest another one. This laptop will be upgraded, so please tell me what I need to upgrade it with. Thanks!

6 gigs of ram is a lot. That is plenty for those games. I would get the better video card over 2 more gigs of ram. You could even drop it to 4 gigs of ram and upgrade to the GeForce 9500. Either option you chose, you will be fine.
Seems like a sweet laptop.
My desktop i have 2 gigs of ram and i play CSS, TF2, and COD4 just fine. I just wish i had a stronger Vid Card.

I agree with seventwooh - 6GB of RAM is an overkill at the moment. Spend money on the graphics card instead.
Also remember that there's only so much that you can upgrade on a laptop and upgrading anything will probably void your warranty anyway. So keep that in mind and perhaps think about building your own PC instead of buying a laptop.
A laptop of that kind of power isn't going to be that portable and you might be able to get a better specification in a PC for the same price as the laptop. Plus you'll be able to upgrade it as you want.

Well, first off, not all computers internal parts support over 4 GB of ram. Most today do support 8 GB of ram, but be sure on that. Also, yes, you should get the NVIDIA Geforce 9500, especially if it has DDR3 memory, because it will be much faster. But anyways, laptops are horrible for upgrading. You cannot change the graphics cards in them, and it is always more expensive, but at least the components are weaker! Just get a desktop if you want to use it for gaming, because laptops
1. Cannot be customized.
2. Ones used for gaming are only used at LAN parties, and you don't seem like one who would do that.
3. Expensive.
4. Weaker.
5. Have less USB ports and usually have to be replaced if any of the parts go bad.

To play the games you mentioned, you would only need 2 gigs of ram and the Geforce 8400. However, if you wanted to play more current games, I would recommend 4 gigs of ram and the Geforce 9500. In terms of staying more or less top of the line, that would hold you over for about a year and a half - maybe two years.
If you're serious about getting this laptop, I would also recommend getting the biggest battery you can. That'd probably be a 9 cell. A 6 cell battery on a comp like that would barely last at all.

6GB of RAM is more than enough for what you will be doing. I would use the extra money on the video card or more hard drive space.
