Is a Blu Ray player worth getting? Why or why not?

I'm not sure if a Blu Ray player is worth my money. What do you think?

YES, the resolution is higher,*you wont really notice how much better it is until you go back to watching DVDs on a DVD player lol*

In my humble opinion, a blu-ray player is worth getting if the following things are true:

You own an HDTV with a size greater than 42"
You are not happy with how your DVDs look on it
You don't mind paying a steep premium (typically $10 a purchase or $5 a month from netflix) in order to get a better picture and better sound (most people can't reap the benefits of 7.1 sound because most people don't have 7.1 systems).

If all of these things are true, then yes. Otherwise, no.
