I have windows xp in a mac via parallel's program. Can I read E-mails via outlook express and how. Do I also need to run an antivirus program when I am using a broser in the windows environment.

Although the answer came a bit later than the first answer by bdegrande I found it more concise and complete.
It is pretty much like running a Windows machine. Outlook Exoress and virtually any other PC software will work. There is a speed penalty, so some things will not work, like Aero in Vista or games which need very high speed, but business apps work without a problem,
You DO need to tun an antivirus program, I use the free version of AVG, Windows viruses won't affect your Mac, but could infect your virtual machine and could spread to other Windows users via email. One big advantage of Parallels is that if you do get infected, you can restore your VM from an earlier snapshot, much cleaner than trying to clean up the registry.
