I need help with Amazon Kindle

Specifically, how do you delete things? For example, if you subscribe to a daily newspaper, then each day you get a new entry. Once I've read it, how do I get it off the screen?

Concerning battery life for a charge...is it using battery when in sleep mode? Is it suggested to turn off the communication when not actively searching or downloading something?

Is there a way to lock a page so accidentally tapping the left or right side of the unit doesn't change the page?

Is it true that the "NowNow" feature is disabled? If not, how do you access it?

Where's the best on-line forum for Kindle?

Thanks!

For help with the Kindle, you should have a User's Guide on your home page. If not, you can locate it online here:

The amazon kindle forum is very helpful as well. You can access it here:

Deleting content: Select content manager from the main menu on your home page. From there, you will be able to delete any content you wish.

Battery: Some battery is used during sleep mode but very little. Turning off your whispernet will make your battery stay charged much longer.

Lock: there is no way to lock an individual page. I really wish this feature was available too.

NowNow: Once again, you can access this via the main menu on the home page. Click on "experimental" and you will find it.

Hope that helps! I hope you enjoy your kindle as much as I do. :)

Deleting: Go to content management from the bottom pop-out menu coming from your home menu. There, you can select individual items then use the pop-out menu to choose "Remove Selected Items". If you mean just how to get out of reading a newspaper, just press the home button.

Battery: The whispernet communication is the primary battery-user. Some battery is used when flipping pages, even less is used when it's in sleep mode. Definitely take down Whispernet when you're not using it.

Lock: No, not really. You can go into sleep mode, but that's it for now.

NowNow: From your home screen, go to the pop-out menu at the bottom and select "Experimental". There, you get a rudimentary web browser and a capability to play music, along with the NowNow service, though I've never tried it out.

Forum: Can't help you there beyond a simple Google search, which doesn't immediately turn up anything great.
