I can't tell you much about the lens options. I bough the package lens Nikkor f18-105 3.5-5.6. It covers the average photographer needs 90%+ of the time. I feel that it is pretty sharp.

Does anyone have the Nikon D90 DSLR If so, would you recommend it? What lens do you have?

I have the D-90 DX and feel it was an excellent choice. There are better Nikon models of course, at much higher prices. The D-90 has a heavier, more solid body, than the D-5000 or D-3000. Personally, I like the extra heft for camera stability and minimizing camera movement. It has a very large number of features, and will take you quite a while to learn them all.
