Looks like a great way to save money and if you're very tech savvy you could even ditch your cell phone and just do everything through skype.

This is really interesting. I mean, if you want, you can use your own home number, and it looks like the headset and mic are included too. This is awesome - I'm thinking I can call anyone I want, almost anywhere I want and talk for as LONG as I want, too!
I'm in.
Magic Jack, FTW! And, if it were me, I'd go to get it AT Radio Shack, not Wally World. The salespeople I've dealt with at my local Radio Shack have been extremely helpful. Just my two cents.

Wow. I love this gizmo. I did look at the reviews and they are really helpful. I'm allllll about saving any money I can right now, and ditching my cell would be a huge money saver for me. This is really interesting. I mean, if you want, you can use your own home number, and it looks like the headset and mic are included too. This is awesome - I'm thinking I can call anyone I want, almost anywhere I want and talk for as LONG as I want, too!

The review for Magic Jack look pretty positive - I'd put that in the "pro" column. Price? Reasonable, another "pro." I'm not entirely sure I see a "con" at all, to be quote honest. One of my best friends lives in Canada, and while we don't talk all the time, it would be so nice to be able to chat with her without worrying about how much the call is costing us.

Now on the flip side since most answers here have been positive, it's only fair to show some of the negatives about it. I think some of these websites, along with the above answers, can help in giving you a rounded view of Magic Jack: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/fraud-and-scam-c105684.html
