The barrier for ebook adoption is not technology, it is consumer appeal, and that means a cost-for-features tradeoff. If you want someone to spend $300 to read books, you need to say "What do I get for my $300?" Right now the answer is basically, "Well, you don't have to take up shelves of space anymore, all the books are available at your fingertips." That appeals to a certain audience, but not the largest one. The big audience says, "Ok, while this thing is in my hand, explain to me how it does something that a regular book does not do?"

Do you think a Flex OLED ebook read is hot or not?
I currently have a Sony PRS-505 ebook reader, but I just saw this video for a possible Flex OLED design that Sony is working on, I think it looks pretty sweet but what do you think?

I think the form factor looks pretty good, and the display of pages looks crisp. But the demo misses a tremendous opportunity to show something *other than text*. The next great ebook, in my opinion, will be the one that starts to showcase something other than "Look, I look exactly like a paper book." How about some graphics? Some interactivity directly on the page, beyond just forward/next? Maybe some animation?
