Changing your DNS is fairly simple in Leopard. To do so you need to go to choose the Apple tab, and select System Preferences.

Click once on the gray Network button.

Choose the network that you would like to use, such as Airport, Bluetooth, Ethernet, or Firewire. After making your selection, click the Advanced button.

Click on the DNS tab, and then click the Add (+) button at the bottom. Enter IPv4 or IPv6 address for the DNS server.

Click on the Add (+) button at the bottom of the Search Domains list and enter the search domain, mahalo.com for example.

After you've finished, click the Ok button.

Via Leopard help:

To enter a DNS server address and search domains:

Choose Apple > System Preferences, and then click Network.

Select the network connection service you want to use (such as AirPort or Built-in Ethernet, unless you named it something else) from the list, and then click Advanced.

Click DNS, and then click Add (+) at the bottom of the DNS Servers list. Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address for the DNS server.

Click Add (+) at the bottom of the Search Domain list and enter the search domain, apple.com for example.

When you’re finished, click Apply Now.

1 - Click on your Apple menu and choose System Preferences:

2 - Double-Click on the Network icon:
http://www.earthnet.net/support/tcpip_dns/images/dsl_tcpip_mac-02.jpg

3 - Click on the adapter that you wish to change (usually Built-in Ethernet) and then click the Configure... button:

4 - Go to the TCP/IP tab. If your computer is configured to use a dynamic IP address, you should see a screen like this one (notice Using DHCP in the drop-down box next to Configure):
http://www.earthnet.net/support/tcpip_dns/images/dsl_tcpip_mac-dhcp.jpg

This is where you can change your DNS settings, by entering the appropriate DNS servers in the Domain Name Servers (Optional) box.

If you need to configure your IP address manually, select Manually from the drop down box called Configure in the TCP/IP tab. You should get a screen like this one:

Update your DNS servers addresses here.

Apply your settings by clicking the Apply Now button.
